ABOUT ROSSPORT by the SEA Lodging & Retreat

Your Super-Host, Ross Furman, lived in Eastport as a child and always wanted to come back and own a piece on Moose Island.  In 1987 he purchased the dilapidated/ vacant  1790 Captain Jacob Lincoln farmhouse on Cobscook Bay and so began his adventure in the magical place now called Rossport.  His passion and enthusiasm for the beauty, character and culture of the surrounding region is infectious.

A little slice of heaven on earth. Explore the 80+ acres of fields and trails, first sunrise in the USA . Nestled between the Cobscook & Passamaquoddy Bays, Rossport has a mile and a half of shoreline.  So whether your interest is high tides ( 28' twice a day) or hay fields ( for the cows), or both, you will find them at Rossport.

Rossport is also a farm – fresh eggs daily, pigs, belted galloway (Oreo) cows roam in their field plus an organic garden is growing fresh veggies, herbs & flowers.

Eastport (the easternmost city in the USA) and Down East/ Bold Coast are truly authentic Maine and many guests return year after year to savor the quiet of Rossport and the hiking, kayaking and canoeing, as well as the incredibly fresh seafood daily.  On Rossport beach dig and pick your own clams and periwinkles.

Families, groups and weddings of all sizes are welcome to experience the very best that Down East Maine has to offer.

With 32 bedrooms in 12 privately located sites, you are certain to find the right lodging, amenities, and facilities for your needs.  So, grab yourself an Adirondack chair, kick off your shoes, and settle in for a beautiful escape from the everyday.
